Anticipation in second language speech comprehension

My PhD is part of the LEMMA (Language, Education, and Memory, in Multilingual Academia) project in which we study L2 disadvantages (and advantages) in language processing and education. The goal of my project is to uncover differences between L1 and L2 auditory comprehension. My research focuses on whether bilinguals use linguistic context information to anticipate upcoming semantic input when listening in L2 like they do when listening in L1. I am interested in finding out which factors modulate anticipatory processes in bilingual speech comprehension (e.g. resource limitations, weaker links between semantics and phonology).
